i had reported in another thread that my R had a cold engine running issue and it got hot unusually quick in traffic. it would really roast your thigh.
since my 02 did none of this, im wondering if being an 06 model, might have resulted in a leaner map. ocala hd gave it a good going over and everything was within spec.
now that i have installed "gils box", evrything is at an acceptable level. i have several thousand miles on the bike, as well as a 975 mile, in 24 hours trip to the smokies. i put it thru the paces to get the problems to rear their ugly heads, but it was perfectly reliable. yes, your leg still gets hot, as its the breed of the cat, but not like it used to.
i had this leg roasting problem on my m-2 buell. i followed some advice and had my pipes jet-hot coated. i didnt really think it would make a difference. well it did. so im going to have the r pipes coated in sterling as soon as i can.
anyone else have similiar experiences with their R?
