Any problem with putting in a K&N Air Filter, without doing any other mods. (yet)

Any advantage? (other than it's cleanable and lasts a long time)

I'm guessing that with the stock pipes and airbox, that the air filter itself isn't the weak link, so I wouldn't expect any performance benefits from it, alone.

Not really a good idea. The K&N filter will flow more air thus making the bike run lean. Probably not lean enough to do any damage, but lean none the less. You could very well develop a mid range flat spot by doing so. Wait 'till you upgrade your exhaust before changing out the stock air filter.

But I did notice a performance increase with just the filter alone. Not because I had it and it's mine type of thing. I could reproduce the difference racing a 600cc friend's bike just swapping filters. Very small but noticeable and reproducible.

Try it! Tell us. Then take it off and V-Mod your pipes to run it I guess. Just let us in on your fun.
