Okay, we're building a 1550 big bore here. It will be drag raced some. It is getting a heavier duty clutch. What I need to know from anyone who has a high horsepower big bore is this. Are you running stock transmission parts? If not, what changes have you made. If it's still stock, how is it holding up? The bike will probably also have electric or air shifting, that's is the reason I'm looking for some input.

STOCK TRANNY IS FINE,10,000 MILES TOTAL,5700 BIG BORE,102 PASSES
ON THE TRACK.VERY SLIGHT WEAR.(1320 B.B.)
1490 B.B. 3700 MILES,46 PASSES ON THE TRACK,NO VISUAL WEAR.

Rick did you ever get that whole setup of gears yet. I was told that gears can be had for a fair price then the machine shop can adjust the shaft size and the key if needed to make it work. from what I thought I read awhile back someone said that 5th gear is a straight cut making it alittle esier I would hope to work out some gears. What is the cost on the whole set up from HD

$454.00 AND $653.00 EACH SHAFT. 5TH IS STRAIGHT CUT.

Does anyone have readable prints that scale .001's? I just happen to know a legendary drag racing drivetrain company that my bro from high school's family owns, and let's just say they can make gears, and shafts (even out of 300M and Marage, used mostly in Alcohol, Pro Mod, and Top Fuel cars), so I'm sure they can make whatever you guys need, I just need some prints and some examples for reference. Can't say they will do it, or even want to do it without a set of prints at the least. :popcorn :popcorn

With Kaz and all his "spare" parts he's had, there has to be a gear set to "liberate" from one. Or whoever, you will get it back, just needs to be borrowed for "cloning".

BTW G, Lenco has their own gear hobs, grinders, lathes, mill, CNC lathes, mills, and the guys that run those gear hobs and grinders have for the last 20 years, so if it can be done, it can be done there. Get me some parts.

Well, we got the cases back yesterday. Plus pistons, throttle body and these lumpy assed cams. This thing is going to be fun!

We got the frame back the day before. It has been smoothed out and painted black with a small amount of blue pearl. The swingarm matches the frame. Already have the Storz front end and PM wheels.

Hopefully soon one of our highly respected members will get me these. I will say that if do-able, the gear sets will all be straight cut. But I'm not promising anything until my engineers check stuff out.
