Was going for a ride to the stealers today and found a small leak coming off the lower left radiator shroud. It sat for about a week and had a spot of oil about the size of a beer can. I'm thinking that maybe a oil cooler line off the bottom of the radiator is leaking. Has anyone had this problem or heard of this happening. Any help would be GREAT. Thanks Greg

There seems to be a lot of that going on... John had one come into the shop yesterday with a similar problem.

Could you have John give me some feed back when he has a chance. Steeler can't look at it untill the 2nd week in Jan.

I think I've got a similar situation on my bike - What was the resolution on yours?
Thanks in advance -

Ended up being a shrink clamp that wasn't properly installed, tech changed the hose and clamp. This time the dealer did a great job!

I had the same problem on my first V-ROD. Come to find out, My over flow was to full and it was leaking out. I just drained it down a small amount and it was fixed.

Thanks for your prompt response! I puzzled over what the leaking fluid was for while - but based on what you said, plus the good ole' "smell it, look at it, feel it" test - it turned out to be a little coolant. Ricky G. suggested tasting it - but I'll admit I chose to take a pass on that particular test.
I haven't had the bike under a hosepipe for a while, and it looks like the small amount of coolant had congealed to make a nasty sticky mess at the bottom of the radiator shroud. The coolant has an oily feel to it, which confused me at first - but it smells very sweet, and has a pinkish hue to it. The "cold level" check shows I'm still OK, so whatever leak there is, must be pretty small. I'll have the dealer take a look at it the next time I take it in.
I had the same problem..especially after longer trips when the engine got hotter. I replaced the top radiator hose (the heat (shrink) wrap leaked when it ran hot). That fixed my problem. About $13.00 hose and 1 hour labor. 3 weeks out of warranty of course.

I'm having similar issues... I want it fixed properly & not with ugly metal clamps.:bash:
