Hey, Now that the year is over can we get a status of everyones season - anyone that participated in points series can you post your final position. How about best ET for the year, time slip stats. How many wins and how many finals..... or if you did not make it that far the best race of the year.... how many rounds that kind of thing. The year in review. I will begin another thread to get folks plans for next season.

Now as I recall - Upsman and Cycle Nuts and Bolts had a big year - and Eagle put a real push on at Prostar...... mine wasn't so bad either - but I am waiting for our currently reigning champion and almost champions to post first - as they say in the game of golf - you guys have the honor.

Where is everyone - off doing their holiday shopping? well, I guess that I will just have to start. This season was tough for me. I was trying to defend the 2003 Motorcycle Class and Track Championship at Pittsburgh Raceway an IHRA sanctioned track. I had allot of problemes with redlights towards the end of the season and landed up losing in early rounds late in the season when I need wins. I landed up 3rd behind a Busa and a CBR 1000 - Hurricane Charlie. He had a great year and consistently got the best of me. I went to the Norwalk Division 3 Finals. Tied for forth in the gamblers race and went out on Saturday (redlight) so that ended the points related competition. Came home, had some work done including repacing a clutch and that addressed the rollout problem - i.e. no more red lights. WOn the next 3 events and went to the finals in Hagerstown losing to their track champion on a Kaw drag bike - he cut a .000 - poerfect light to my .02. It was a great end of the season. Went to eight finals and won five events. One of final that I lost was for the IHRA equivalent of an Iron Man/Wally to a top car. Another was in a gamblers race during street wars running almost all top cars - I qualified for a bye run in five straight runs (lowest reaction time) against the ars with their delay boxes - that was fun - they kept coming over to check my times which were consistently .00x. Needless to say they were surprised to get beat on the tree by a street bike with no electronics. Best ET for the year was 11.358 @ 115.6x. Best eigth mille (2 races) was 7.14 @ 95.x. Best 60' time was 1.64. Setup as follows - Engine stock, slammed 1" front and back, VMod SE pipes, Pingel electric shift, dyna shift light, 22/66 chain - custom chrome throughout - topless without aircleaner, racetuner - dyno tuned. Tire pressure at 28 PSI rear, 40 front. stage at 150 degrees measured on lower head by infra red thermometer. Sponsored by Spirit Harley Davidson. Bike is overmaintained at the shop. 12,000 miles over 500 passes without missing an event or ellimination as a result of mechanical problem. My view is that the bike is an exceptional bracket racer. Next year I am looking to focus achieving the maximum level of consistency possible on this machine - committing to win and taking taking the program to the highest competitive standard possible - then the following year I may look to just play with going faster.
