: Playing with Premiere Pro 1.5 demo

I wasted over 2 hours tonight building an intro file alone seeing how Pro 1.5 works. The demo is a free download from adobe and good for 30 days and allows you to save anything you build with it. I have Premiere 6.0 but the pro is a big step up in quality.

Max,

I would like to issue you a speeding ticket for going 121 mph. Now you need one on a V-Rod. Keep up the great work.

vrodman I was doing a lot of tuning on that tank and a lot of full throttle running. I usually get 75-80 when the low fuel light comes on.

I'm almost ready to spend a few bucks on video editing software. I found this:
http://www.meritline.com/adobe-premiere-pro-tutorial-manual.html
Is that a good deal?
Anyone know of something better?
Nice stuff Max!

That is a great price if you want them all, I found this seller on ebay that does not sell them that cheap but did sell me the pro 1.5 for 259.99 had I seen that deal I would have probably gotten that package instead.

Zijspan,

That does seem like a great deal. I use Pinnacle but I've heard from many people that Adobe Premier makes great software for producing movies. It's pretty complicated and will take a lot of time to learn but so do most of the more advanced editing software packages out there.
If you have access to a Mac you might also want to take a look at "Final Cut" by apple. I've heard "Final Cut" software is the cream of the crop for making movies.
I think it's possible to do with Pinnacle what you can do with Adobe or Final Cut or any of the others. It just may take several steps for some things as the more advanced software packages have "already built" applications that are easily edited where others have more simplified applications that can be minipulated to obtain the more advanced options and effects.
You might look at it this way. It you have two motorcycles and take a trip across country they both will get you there. Its just a CVO V-ROD (adobe Premier) will get you there quicker then a V-ROD (pinnacle).

If you want to acheive professional looking movies, Pinnacle, adobe and Final Cut will all get you there. What altimately should be your decision is what type of movies do you want to produce with what kinds of affects and options. I.e. Final Cut has many sound tracks for adding music and sound effects with advanced editing functions. Pinnacle has 2 tracks with limited editing functions for music and effects.

Honestly, the software that comes with most video cameras is suffecient for making excellent vids with good titles and effects and also have the ability to be edited to acheive more advanced special effects.

Whatever you go with, it's going to take a lot of time and patience and can be very addicting.

Good Luck!

that is some cool stuff Max.. I need to get into this, I have a MiniDV Sony, but I ended up with hours of video's of my dogs haha.. I did purchase a DVD burner last month, so I think it's time for me to jump on this bandwagon.

Well no real fancy effects there. The title was built frame by frame and then dubbed in sound. Every time you see a different piece of the v-rodforums.com logo it is a new piece pasted on the same background.

That's what I like to see Max. Someone that knows how to get going so they can merge with traffic. Probably not too many folks have to hit the breaks to cut their speed nearly in half to merge though! Boy, that CBR really winds up. Other than your lawnmower, do you have anything in your garage that doesn't go over 120+ MPH?

Damn fuel shuts off on my lawn mower at 109, has something to do with the speed rating of the tires. :)

Still working with my opening page of the movie. I want this to be a mask that anyone that makes movies for the forum can use when I get done. I will post the large version of it for those that want to use it.

How about a little shorter with a little more flare.

I love that one Max! as a mask, if the viewer was looking down waiting to load, that would make him look up ! awesome!

I just can't make myself like the first title so I keep changing it. It just doesn't say V-Rod the way I wanted it to. So how about a little different look but a little bit the same style.

OK this is it, good bad or otherwise I'm done and think it says what I want the title to say. I will post the full size avi 720x480 17mb file for anyone that wants to use it in the start of movies on the file server.

Well, now that I already bought that package, I found a better deal. This package deal is also known as "Pyro Professional", which includes Adobe Premiere Pro 1.5, Adobe Encore DVD 1.5, Adobe Audition 1.5, a 1394 card and cable. This new place seems to allow you to substitute some blank DVD discs for the card if you don't need the card. Here's that super deal:
http://www.firewire-1394.com/pyro-professional-v15.htm

I bought the package from Meritline (before I found the better deal), and they delivered in 4 days. Though I have not installed and run everything, it seems to be a really great package deal with all the top-notch stuff. Now I gotta go tell my wife what she just bought me for Christmas!
