: MT6 to MT7

I am doing very nicely playing with my TS2+ and then making the necessary corrections to the base map I have loaded into my 2003 VRSCA using mastertune.

I am utilising the .MT6 file extension and wondered if it is possible to cut/paste copy tables etc to create a .mt7 file extension once I am happy with the map. If it is possible, would there be any advantage in doing this or is it best to keep it as a .mt6 for my bike as I am obviously operating in open loop and cannot use V tune.

Any comments here would be appreciated.

My understanding is that V-Tune is for closed loop areas of the map, so I don't see any advantage in your case.

The base settings (what's behind the VE tables) are completely different between the MT6 and MT7 files so no, you cannot do a straight conversion. Only TTS can make the conversion. Give Steve a call or an email @ TTS for more details.

Mark so there will be no copy paste from 6 to 7 like previous versions?

How can I get the m6 from the provided racetuner map into the the mastertune m7 ?

Yes you can copy and paste from early files to later files. What Mark is saying is that the mt7 files have lots of other things changed so just trying to copy a mt6 base file into the mt7 base file isn't going to get you the results you think. A lot of time was spent on the Vrod and Mark was heavily involved in the testing. This was done to optimize the calibration to what Vrod owners were using the bikes for. If you look at a VE table in the mt7 file then again at a MT6 version they are not event close to the same. I have only made mt7 files for the closed loop vrod at this time.

Thanks for the clarification Steve. No probs MT6 is working for me if you ever release any base files for the earlier V Rods I can always change over at that time and compare.
