Yeah but (and there's always a but) they are THE best helmet period. I own two and the extra money is worth it to me.

Great if Arai works for you. I own two, as well as some Shoei's. The Arai's are light and comfortable. I like the chin ventilation. Changing the shield isn't as easy as Shoei, and the ventilation tabs on the Arai shield pop out too easily (like when cleaning the shield). The Arai ventilation scoops on top are a disappointment. Two have come loose and I continually re-fix. Tabs covering the holes on top flop in the wind, introducing a nasty rattling noise. Poorly designed. Shoei is quieter for me. Arai is a disappointment versus the price paid, and they've lost me as a repeat customer... but I know Arai works OK for others.
