With all the 200mph sportbike movies out there I thought why not see what 200mph really feels like and also have something to compare against their speedometers. In 4th gear "in reality" I'm doing 50mph. I sped up the movie 4X to acheive the affect of 200mph. I was gonna do 100 and speed it up by two but it was rush hour. :)
If you notice, at 200mph the broken lines nearly become solid.

FYI, I slapped this one together for comparison's sake so it has some rough edges I didn't smooth out.

Now THIS ONE is REAL. You can tell it wasn't speeded up because the music plays at normal speed. I'm going out right now and see if I can do 200 on my V-Rod, now that I know it can be done.

Kaz,

Are you serious?

Is that why you race? Because you saw a video? Or because you like it? The day you let movies control your life or deceide who you are, or the risks you'll take in life that would be a huge problem for you.

I agree with you that God for bid a member were to go down because they were speeding or anything else and kill themselves a great grief would be born and who the hell wants to see that?

People race and speed because it thrills them. It's a high for them or it's simply who they are.If they didn't enjoy it or desire that, bikes that go 0-60 in 3 seconds or do 200mph would only be on showroom floors. They're not. There on the highways and thosands ride them because they desire the experience. Sometimes movies will even provide that experience for them so they don't go out and hurt themselves.
You might ride 150mph regularly and talk about it often but that only leaves a curiousity of what it feels like. Movies can demonstrate how it feels or looks so they don't have to go out on a public road and risk their lives.

Unfortunately Kaz we can't control the nuts doing wheelies on a crowded freeway or you for that matter when you do 180 on a highway. The best we can do is hope you don't kill yourself and take it to the salt or track.

You'll never control what people watch or what movies are available to see at the theatre or anywhere or the availablility of the incredible machines they can go buy and ride home on the same day.

When it comes to motorcycling the best we can do is hope and pray people use good judgement, not take extreme risks, enjoy and come home safe everyday.
