Attached are some pictures of some of the seats for the night rod from Harley. Mine came with the stock and reach seat. I just got the sundowner as I, er, need a little more padding I mean support!
These are all Gen. Harley. I'll follow up with a report on the sundowner.
Stock seat too narrow for passengers for anything other than a short ride. Drivers stock gets "hard" after a short time, for me about 80 miles.
Reach was better but moved me to far forward with the mid controls I have.
Pics 1&2 are the reach. 3&4 stock. 5&6 sundowner.

There are better looking seats for the V-Rod but none more comfortable than the Sundowner! at least for me :thumb:

Sundowner doesn't look so bad on the 240 frame bikes, but it's still so damn comfortable that I don't care what others think of the look. My ass likes to be cradled.

How does your passenger like the height on the sissy bar when it comes to longer rides?

Only comment I've had "high enough for a little support, low enough to get my legs over".
Sundowner seat does move you up a little and i would like to be back an inch. This "move" does give the passenger a bit more room, so not all bad.

I am 5' 7-1/2" How tall are you and do you have forward controls?
I actually like the look of the Sundowner and if it is really comfy and works good for my height to forward controls then that is the way I will go.
Thanks,

I have the mid or standard controls on my night rod. 5' 9" with 30" inseam, everyone has different legs. I sometimes cruise with the highway pegs, but had to do some changes for that to work for me.
Sundowner is better than the stock seat for long and many day rides. Stock gets to you after a while, two or there tanks of gas in a row.
I'm not far from Philly (10 miles) if you want to come over and check it out, you are welcome.

Anyone know if a sundowner seat off a 2003 will fit a 2009 nightrod? A guy is selling one pretty cheap.

I don't think so as the frame was changed for the factory 5 gal tank.

Running the sundowner front, AW rear on mine. I figure next time I have to down the bike for a day or two, I'll run both over to my saddle guy, and have him do a layer of gel in both.
Sundowner seems to have "broken in" after 3K miles, and isn't as "cushy" as when new.
As mentioned in numerous threads, I'm more concerned about passengers falling off and scratching the fender (and if they did THAT, I'd make a U-Turn, come back and FINISH THEM OFF), than I am about their comfort. Most passengers, the ride usually extends no longer than from the bar (or the ho-stroll), to my house anyway. I've had women fall asleep on the back, so it must not be TOO uncomfortable back there.
