i just purchased tts mastertune and was unable to download it. It said i had no v.i.n # in my system. Does the bike's computer not have to have a v.i.n # in order to run?? Has this happened to anyone else? The bike is a 2001 fatboy and is an American bike that i imported to Canada!

In 2004 there were a few ECM's that never got programmed with VIN numbers. (In the V-Rod Line) The fix is to take it to the dealer and have them flash it with the Digital Tech to program the VIN into the ECM.

It *should* be free if the ECM truly doesn't have a VIN.

I see you are from Canada and I know there were some issues with ROW bikes and VIN's as well. Get to the dealer and have them diagnose it and call Steve at TTS for clarification. He knows all the ins and outs of the H-D screw up regarding our ECM's.
