I will be doing a 1800 mile trip in the near future and wonder how the tallboy and the sundowner compare.

I ride an 03A and am 6'1" so room is important and I'm no spring chicken so a hard seat is out.

I've read that the sundowner is comfy for the long rides but how does the tallboy stack up?

Thanks
Doug

I had a Sundowner but felt like it moved me forward to much, I now have a Tallboy and love it. Comfort wise I can't tell the difference, both are ten times better than stock.

I find the Sundowner comfy on long rides, I'm 5' 10" so that may be why? Ive been in this saddle for 10- 14 hr days and find at the end of the day I have no problems.

I'm 66YO with a 36in inseam and the stock v-rod seat is perfect for me. I've been to KC three times with no pain and can do 700 mile days fine.

Go with a Sundowner and add flipped reduced reach footpeg mounts to make up for the inch or so the seat will move you forward. The Sundowner is perfect for the long haul.

Had a stock seat and padded it with a gel pad covered with sheepskin. Did 1600 miles in three days...my butt was ok, but my tailbone was sore. Replaced stock seat w/Harley's "touring seat" for the VROD; it has a little more back support, but moved me forward a couple of inches. Still looking for utopia...
