So I found out that my wife's cousin does upholstery for vintage/muscle cars for a living, has the whole set up in his garage and he is contracted by a couple of the restoration shops in town. Well he just got done doing a couple of motorcycle seats and they look pretty damn good. So he offered to do my V's seat at cost!! Well once I get my 240 on the back end I'm gonna go fenderless and would like to know what the best way to combine the 2 seat pans to make them one. he can order new foam and the gel seats and shape them and such I just need to figure out how to combine the two seat pans...maybe remake them out of fiberglass?

The latter idea sounds like the ticket.

Yeah I was thinking so but how would you go about integrating the hinge? I wonder if it is something that could be removed from the seat and then embedded into the fiberglass.

Been a awhile since I paid any attention to it. Is it just rivetted on to the base?

Not sure but I guess that is an option as well. Will have to look since I just pulled mine off this weekend.
