Hello! I bought a HD factory seat for my 07 Night Rod (the seat was from another 07 Night Rod). I am wondering if I bought a seat that can not be mounted on my bike because the hinge plate has been removed from the seat by cutting off the rivets.

Can someone tell me how the swivel/hinge plate attach to the seat?

The seat has 3 holes that look like there were rivets that were cut off. These holes (in a triangle pattern) are near the 2 slits in the seat cover where the hinge plate would poke through. I have contacted the seller but he/she has not responded yet.

I would appreciate any help on how the hinge plate attaches and whether or not I can get this seat on my bike securely.

My 07 X has the 3 rivets holding the hinge on.
Why don't you cut the rivets off the first seat and rivet the hinge onto the new one?
