Mike or Steve.

I have a question on saving the original map with Mastertune. I just dropped off my Vrod yesterday to have the powerline mod done along with a tune using the Mastertune. The dealer told me that he believed that if he unloads the map to his computer, that he would not be able to give it to me on a CD due to the encryption and that it will be tied to his computer... Is that true? Is the unloaded map tied forever to the computer it is unloaded to?

If so, IMHO that's a bad design, as people change computer hardware all the time. Hopefully the encryption algorithm uses the Mastertune Serial Number and/or the VIN, so that we can transfer the map, even though it's encrypted.

I have every belief you guys did this right!

The dealer can upload the map and give it to you with no issue. The map will only be allowed to be restored back into your bike only so it does no good for anyone else's bike. You can reload it to your bike with any computer as long as you have your file and interface.

Thanks Steve. I'll let the dealer know this too.

Mastertune is a device that will allow you to change the ECM calibration.

I have solve the error that I posted above. The culprit was the USB to serial adapter. I looks like it is working because it can read the ECM data but errors when saving the stock calibration. I bought a different adaptor and it worked. I loaded the MT7 that was posted here and it runs good, the sound of the stock pipe even sounds different( a little deeper ). I am changing my pipes tomorrow hope it will still be this good. Of course all of these observation could just be my imagination, placebo effect of having a new toy

So, it's the new version of the SE race tuner

I installed the Tabs baffled and it still runs well using the same calibration. No decel popping no hesitation, I even tried to lug it (50mph in 5th gear) then accelarate and it's all good. Took it on the freeway and accelarated from 80 to 110 mph (in 5th) and it took off like I downshifted. This tuner is good, I can't wait for the new MT7 file which is suppose to be better.

So, it's the new version of the SE race tunerit is built by the same company and works similar to the old sert but has many new capabilities that h-d didn`t think necessary. you can go to their website and download the manual to get a better idea of the differences.
