: Suggest a seat for me....
Black Hole 10-12-2008, 05:41 PM My tailbone is pretty sore after about 50 miles of non-stop riding. I'd like a good looking, comfortable, low-sitting seat.
I also need a passenger pillion and "quick-remove" backrest for my wife.
I've heard about he Willie G and the Corbin Pro Solo but haven't seen either in person.
DenverDX 10-12-2008, 07:33 PM my tailbone got sore too then I got a sundowner. BEST money I spent, fits my arse perfectly. can ride all day now
If comfort is your main concern then bang for the buck you can't beat the sundowner.
DTHDOC 10-13-2008, 02:43 AM The willy-G seat will relieve pressure on the tailbone and looks great!!

Can you give me a link? I've googled and still can't find a pic (or atleast a pic that I can tell it's different than the stock seat).

I do like the look of the Willie G, but I've read that it moves you down and forward similar to the reach seat. I'd prefer to move back as my legs are already at a 90* angle with the forward controls.....
I sat on a sundowner and while it gave more support out to the sides, I really didn't like the "wide" feel. I definitely like the looks of the stock seat more.
dmlkm 10-25-2008, 02:43 PM I'm glad to hear about the comfort sundowner. I just picked one up off ebay for less than half the price. I like to ride many miles and my butt starts to hurt.
NicksDX 10-28-2008, 04:26 AM I, too, am looking for a seat for my '08 Night Rod Special. I want something low and sleek for a solo passanger( no pillion needed). any suggestions?
MD Rod 10-28-2008, 07:37 AM I like my Corbin. The're pricey; you HAVE to buy them used on e-bay, but the're way comfortable. They look pretty bada$$ too! But that's just my opinion.
drummer 10-28-2008, 01:02 PM I had a sundowner and is like a couch.
Really big but comfortable. With original seat my tail bone hurt a lot after 30 min of riding.
The sundowner gives more back support.
VrodPete 10-29-2008, 02:48 PM Check out what Mean City Cycles (http://meancitycycles.com) can do with the stock seat. I had my stock seat done and now it's incredibly comfortable. I still hang on to my Sundowner for the long long trips, but the stocker is now a legit all day seat. I had the "memory foam" modification done, but they also have gel pad options which I'm sure are even better.

+1
I really don't think it pushes you forward if anything it is a inch lower and that is all. you can look in my gallery and see pic's of it on the bike.

tpcrawford 11-06-2008, 09:18 AM I had the same problem. I purchased the Sundowner ... that helped but ... it wasn't quite there. I sent my seat out to Americana Soft Seats. Jerry was very easy to deal with and I got my seat back in 5 days ... sent out on Monday, got it back on Saturday.
They,
1. Shaved seat to move me back an inch or so.
2. Installed 3/4" gel pad in the ar$e of the seat
3. Covered entire seat in 1/4" gel pad
4. re-covered with plastic (vapor barrier) and re-covered seat.
My seat is now awesome. I can ride all day with no issues. The seat appears to be stock ... meaning, you can't tell anything was done to it.
I highly recommend Americanna Soft Seats.

vjhardcore 08-07-2009, 03:35 PM I love my Willy G seat - no issues. It might be alittle lower but not more forward. No back issues with it at all..
If you don't have one and want one - problem - its no longer available thru Harley.
sks109 08-23-2009, 05:35 AM Listened to all the views on here and being a lower back sufferer bought a sundowner. What a difference, this is the seat they should have fitted from new. Can travel for miles now without the lower backache.
