About to change the seat on my 08 AW and wondering the best /easiest way to get the old seat off.
I know it must be pretty simple, but that sums me up too.
Any advise would be great.

flip the seat up. there is a plastic piece that runs the legnth of the inside hinge- get a screwdriver and pry it up. the seat should slip of the hinge as you slide it toward the rear of the bike. Hope this helps.

open seat and look at the hinge....there is a plastic CLIP which is overtop of the MIDDLE of the hinge...you need to SNAP OFF this clip....you can then SLIDE THE seat hinge off of the hinge....sorta like sliding a hinge pin off a DOOR HINGE.
i use a small screwdriver to unsnap this plastic piece from hinge....once you look closely at it,you will see what I mean.
you also can push in the cable that holds the seat from opening too far....just push it inward until you can adjust the metal piece sidways and pull it all the way out.

Thanks,i did not want to get too rough and damage it without some idea of how it comes off.
Safe riding.

About the only thing you can damage is that plastic piece that prevents the seat from sliding backward. Not to worry however because it is not real necessary. You can do without it. It just keeps the seat from sliding backward when the seat is open.
