: Help me find a seat for me and the wife
dopeyferree 08-06-2008, 02:40 PM I have an 04 B and I am looking for a seat. Here is what I am looking for
#1 My wifes butt can only take about 30 minutes on the stocker, need more comfort for her.
#2 I am 6'1" and do not want to be moved forward, I would rather not be moved higher either. Down and back would be great or just one or the other.
#3 I also want one that looks ok. I dont want a couch attached to my bike. I seen one seat that looks like its 6 inches of seat above the rear fender, dont want that.
Any help finding the right seat would be greatly appreciated. I have read too many posts here about people who own a ton of seats because they had to keep buying until they found what they wanted. Also if anyone has a used seat that is in good shape, I would prefer to buy a used one to save a few $$
MD Rod 08-06-2008, 02:46 PM Corbin Dual Tour is REALLY NICE. A little pricey new but you can trap them on e-bay lotsa times for the $250-$300 range. They also accept detachable backrests for both rider and passenger.
dopeyferree 08-06-2008, 02:53 PM Do you have a picture of one?

Keep the cool looking seat when not riding two up.

The back rest can be put on either seat.

firemedic 08-06-2008, 05:50 PM click my passenger set up, also we have a "butt buffer" get pad that is awesome!
DesertSpeed 08-06-2008, 08:24 PM Do you have a show bike or do you have a bike that BOTH of you are supposed to enjoy? Our bike is the latter and it's an 06 D (mid controls). I'm 6'2", my wife is 5'4". We have a Sundowner and a custom sissy bar. It's all about priorities. If my wife isn't happy, I'm not happy. A V-rod is too big of an expense to just let it sit because because the wife can't stand riding on it. Not only is the Corbin seat expensive, it should be on an F or maybe a Gold Wing.
dopeyferree 08-06-2008, 08:35 PM By no means is mine a show bike, I dont mind the look of the sundowner, thats fine, but I have seen a couple seats that were just awful looking. Its not for show but I want it to be decent. The only thing I have heard about the sundowner that I didnt like was that it moves your forward some. I have fairly long legs and I would prefer not to move forward. I dont know anyone in my area yet with a vrod or with a different seat so I have never sat on one to check it out.
B-rod69 08-09-2008, 10:34 AM you can simply use a combo, perhaps a Badlander rider seat and Sundowner passenger pillion...that's what I do when she complains about the booty.
dopeyferree 08-09-2008, 10:38 AM I didnt know if different seats would go together. I think I am going to try the butty buddy set up first. Then if I have to get something different I will. I like the look of the stock passenger pillion when its just me on it.
curley03 08-09-2008, 03:51 PM Look into getting your seat rebuilt. I have a badlander seat rebuilt by AMSS seats, will make your seat much more .comfortable.very good work reasonable price $140 or so. passenger seat too.
Get a Mustang Seat with Rider Backrest.

cruzrod 08-11-2008, 08:53 AM I've one of those Corbin tourers,,,great seat,,great back support..when I'm in the gas I love the way it supports my lower back..looks great..I won a hot rod bagger class at a show in Rothbury MI. My wife really likes the backrest..makes her feel secure when I'm in the gas and corners..quite pricey with both seats and backrest I probably got aroung 850 into it but when you plan on spending some time in the saddle it is a investment well spent
